This time Sauron decided to control all the hobbits and chain up Frodo so he could not destroy him this time. Sauron sought vengeance on Frodo but it did not end there.

Sauron had learned that Ea had told the traitor Gandalf about Saurons plan and Ea was to blame for sending in Gandalf to thwart Saurons plan to conqueor Middle Earth. This time Sauron sought out Melkor and the oter Valar to turn them against Ea, and he succeeded in capturing Ea.

Sauron's old plan of just conquering Middle Earth was small in comparison to his new plan to capture Ea and Ea's parents. Sauron knew that if he was to capture Ea it would panic Ea and Ea would seek council from his parents. Ea also had a sister so Sauron knew he would need to take capture her aswell.
